Day 30 (Feb 26th) - TOKYO DISNEYLAND!! Part 2

Continuing from Part 1 (see below)!

"DREAMS WITHIN" PERFORMANCE

As you can see, we went through Adventureland pretty quickly for two big reasons. The first was that we were getting really hungry, and secondly we were trying to make it in time to catch the "Dreams Within" show which is a specially held performance for the 25th Anniversary celebration of Tokyo Disneyland!

Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures of the food we bought before the show because we were rushing! We each bought some hot soup (Amy had curry meatball soup, I had creamy sweet corn soup) which came with bread rolls. Perfect, really yummy winter food for the cold chilly weather that had rolled in. Luckily the rain had stopped!

The show was held on a stage set up in front of Cinderella's castle (the symbol of Disneyland) with all the cast of Disney present. I took tons of photos here, but am only posting a few up. We were standing pretty far away so all these photos were taken on my little digi camera at maximum optical zoom!!

"Dreams Within" was a very simple and predictable story (for adults anyway). But it had a very sweet Disney message to it, as well as LOTS of singing and dancing. Two kids (wearing red jackets below) are given the magical "key" which will help them unlock their dreams.

The Disney cast (except for Mickey Mouse) on stage celebrating giving the magical key to the children

The evil queen from Sleeping Beauty trying to steal the key from the children - Pluto running off with the key! cute!

Unfortunately some evil goblin henchmen managed to steal the key away from Pluto!

Poor Pluto is upset, crying and inconsolable! cute!

After thinking it's all hopeless, our hero Mickey Mouse magically appears to save the day! Pluto immediately latches onto him! cute!

Mickey explains that they don't need the key! To unlock your dreams from within requires only your own ability! The two children have now transformed into a prince and princess (foreground)!

Then there is a BIG celebration and lots of music and dancing. Note the giant key in the background!!

TOON TOWN!

I wanted to visit toon town specifically to take pictures as I didn't get the opportunity the other time. I love the toon town theme, where the buildings and streets are cleverly designed to look like you've stepped right into a cartoon!!
The Toon Town entrance

The 'Jolly Trolley' which ferries tired people around Toon Town on tracks
Fire! Fire! errr, there's no fire! Me not panicking in front of the fire dept.

Amy trying her hardest to steal Mickey Mouse's love letters from the Town's post box. She wasn't successful!! Looks like Mickey gets to stay with Minnie!

Amy in front of the city's powerhouse! There were actually lightning flashes behind those doors!

Let me out!!!! I'm human, I swear!!

I think I need to work on my strength training a bit more!

The town's fireworks factory!

Amy decides to liven things up a bit by setting the fireworks alight!!

The result?! *Kaboom* Lots of smoke and explosive noises emanating from this building

Hmm, should I be mayor of the town or rich bank owner? Tough decision!

Amy hijacking a toon car and having a joyride!

*Phew* after all that we got hungry again and decided to visit Huey, Dewey & Louie's Good Time Cafe!

We bought our food from the Simply ducky counter!

Amy bought a lemon chicken sandwich box set - she didn't like the sandwich at all!

I however, chose to go for an unhealthy but delicious fried prawn dog!

I managed to catch Mr. Scrooge posing with a family! Oops, better not tell him I was thinking of taking over his bank!!

MINNIE'S HOUSE

All the Mickey Mouse characters own houses in Toon Town. The line to enter Mickey's house was just too long so we decided to head to Minnie's house which was just next door anyway. Unfortunately she wasn't at home!

Minnie's very girly house!

Amy testing out the comfort of Minnie's favourite chair.

*Ring ring* Wait a minute, the pencil's stuck to the note pad!!

Amy testing out yet another of Minnie's furniture! This time her loveseat!

Time to have some tea in Minnie's cozy kitchen!

Minnie's backyard had the most beautiful plum/cherry tree. I'm positive it was real! Amy thought it was fake because it's a little early for the cherry blossoms to bloom!

We managed to take this great picture (me holding the camera) outside Minnie's window. No, we aren't peeping, honest!!

"JUBILATION!!" DAYTIME PARADE

Tokyo Disneyland normally holds two daytime parades and a night time 'electric' parade. During this anniversary event however, only one daytime parade was held, the other parade being substituted with the "Dreams Within" show instead.

Again, I took a lot of photos, but am only posting up a few!

So this was where Minnie Mouse was!! Minnie in her golden carriage with the fairy from Pinocchio.

Cinderella and her Prince Charming!

Beauty and the Beast, who's already turned into the prince!

The Pocahontas float. Loved the green spirit in the tree

The Winnie the Pooh float. Tigger's tail was attached to the tree and he kept bungee jumping off it!

One of the impressive lion king vehicles

The Lion King float

Peter Pan float. Captain Hook doing a merry jig on the skull. I even took one photo of him kicking in mid-air!

Lilo and Stitch float.

One of the many costumed paraders!

This was one of 3 flower bicycles being driven. I thought this was so pretty!

Mr Incredible giving a very manly pose for the crowd! Mrs Incredible in the background.

The Toy Story float

Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell atop their float!

The Disney casts float - Mickey Mouse on top and Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck below!

Continued in Part 3!!
