ARABIAN COAST
We went to the Arabian Coast for the Magic Lamp Theater, featuring our favourite Aladdin and the Genie of the Lamp.
The show itself was not what I expected. It was a live performance (with real actors) with a 3D screen background (to show the genie). They did it quite cleverly, having the live actors and the screen interact seamlessly. It was in Japanese but we had English subtitles on a small hand-held screen.
The most vivid memory I have of the Arabian Coast was the smell of curry... True to the theme, there was a food court selling all sorts of curry and even a curry popcorn stand.
Talking about popcorn, the flavours they have include caramel, black pepper, chocolate, curry, soy sauce and strawberry!
MERMAID LAGOON - TRITON'S KINGDOM
If I were 5, I would love this place!!! So naturally, I did! This has to be the most well thought out place in the whole of DS. It is like a world unto itself!
The first impression I had when I walked into Triton's Kingdom was 'Wow! Why didn't I come here when I was 5?' Even for an adult like me (the 'adult' bit is arguable...) I felt like I was in a magical world filled with wondrous sea-creatures, magical lights, amazing sea plants... I can't even describe them!
What would Triton's Kingdom be without Aerial's little cubbyhouse? This where she keeps her 'gizmos and gadgets'.
And her Prince, of course!
As with all the attractions, please feel free to buy some souvenirs home!
We had to hurry at this point cause we wanted to catch a show called 'Mystic Rhythms'. And boy am I glad we did! It was hands-down the best show in Disney Land and Sea EVER! Unfortunately, we have no pictures... we were too wowed to even think about whipping out our cameras! It was very Cirque Du Soleil-like and every moment was very exciting!
There was a merman and mermaid flying out of the water and diving in (VERY gracefully), animals scampering all around, fire and water everywhere, acrobats swinging on cloth-ropes... Super highly recommended for everyone!!!
